An Intro To Me & The Blog

Hey there! Thanks for checking out my blog. I figured this first blog should be an intro to me and my vision for this blog. But first I want to lay down some ground rules:

  • God, Christianity and my faith will be discussed here - if you don't agree, just move on
  • This is a place for community and building each other up (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
  • My faith and family are the most important aspects of my life (Matthew 22:37-39)
  • While this blog is public, it isn't a tell all into my life
  • I value privacy - there are too many creepy people on the internet
  • This isn't a photo album into my life - don't expect to see pictures of my family or for me to share names (again, I value privacy)
  • This is a place for me to share my feelings, thoughts, and life experiences - please be kind (Galatians 5:22-23, Colossians 3:12-14, Ephesians 4:32)

My name is Taylor, I'm a 32 year old Christ-following mom to an almost 1 year old little girl (I can't believe it! Please stop growing little girl!). I have an amazing husband, Brandon, and we have two fur babies, Hank and Kevin (from Up, not Home Alone) - both are doodles. We currently live in Tennessee but are high school sweethearts from Michigan. Being a stay at home mom is my current full time job, but before becoming a mom, I worked full time at a local hospital as an Occupational Therapist. If you know what that is without Googling it, you win some brownie points!

Becoming a mom has been a whirlwind experience, there have been some major highs and unfortunately some major lows. I suffered from severe postpartum depression. It was rough but I wouldn't change my experience for the world though. Throughout my postpartum journey I started to feel this nudge from the Holy Spirit that I needed to do something - both for myself and for other moms. Because let's be honest, there are SO MANY aspects of pregnancy, birth experiences, postpartum, and parenting that no one really talks about - and our culture has some unrealistic expectations of moms. There are so many things I want to talk about and I don't want to dig into them in this first post. After all, this is supposed to just be an intro to me and the blog - but I hope that little bit helps to know what to expect in the future.

I would love to hear any topics you are looking forward to reading about or you would like me to touch on. Please reach out to me via the contact form and I look forward to talking with you!

"Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10 NASB

In Christ,
Taylor
